Description
Town Hall: Health in All Policy & Community Health Initiatives on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Wrather West Kentucky Museum at the Murray State University campus. The event will begin at 6pm. The missions of the Wellness Consortium, Lighten Up Calloway, and the Calloway County-Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (CC-ASAP) are to improve the health and well-being of our community through programming and initiatives to address health issues like obesity and substance abuse. We are hosting a Town Hall on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Wrather West Kentucky Museum at Murray State University starting at 6pm. We invite you to submit questions to the candidates for city council, mayor, magistrate, county judge executive, State Representative, and U.S. Representative. Our two broad questions to the candidates: (1) If elected, what initiatives do you plan to bring forward to improve the health and well-being of our community? (2) If elected, what resources to you plan to increase funding for or attempt to bring to town to improve the health and well-being of our community? For example, increase funding to the public library, increase funding to health department, parks, building of sidewalks, grocery stores in underserved areas, less fast food restaurants, more funding for small business loans, treatment options for substance abuse, education. Prompt to solicit questions from community: What other issues are you interested in hearing about from the candidates to improve the health and well-being of our community?"
