Description
Murray State University has an exciting new selection of classes for this year's Summer Art Workshop. S.A.W. is a hands-on workshop that will cover the elements of art and explore distinctly different mediums in one week's time. This year’s workshop classes will focus on drawing, digital design, textiles, silkscreen printing, alternative photography, bookbinding, and more! Students will work independently and collaboratively to produce one-of-a-kind works of art and expand upon their knowledge of studio art, color theory, and contemporary art theory. The sessions are designed to provide challenging and informational experiences for first-time participants and those who have previously attended. No high school art experience is required to attend this workshop. It is a fast-paced, cumulative learning experience for rising 9th grade students through recent high school graduates. In addition to the classes students will learn about contemporary art trends, visit our galleries on campus, and participate in fun art related activities at night. Although students can commute, we encourage them to stay on campus so they can have a true “college” experience. At the end of the workshop students will display the work they made for parents, faculty, and workshop participants.
