Mechanical Engineer and Integrity Coordinator

The Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Integrity Coordinator provides oversight and direction for many of the maintenance activities in the plant including the Mechanical Integrity (MI) program, the lube program, and the mechanical seal program. The primary role is to develop, implement, maintain, and lead the Mechanical Integrity and PdM program strategies for the facility. Responsible for coordinating and assigning the work of skilled craft workers (e.g., millwrights, pipe fitters, etc.) and qualified contractors to perform RCA / RCFA, PSM, ASME, API and ANSI inspections, reports, and repairs at the plant facility. This work involves boilers, pressure vessels, piping, above ground storage tanks, rotating equipment, pressure relief devices, and material identification (PMI). In addition, this position shares responsibility for the implementation of material management in MRO stores.

How you will impact Ingevity:

Manage overall MI program elements, including lube program and mechanical seal program.

Coordinate scheduling of 3rd party auditors and contractors.

Manage contractors performing NDE and NDT services.

Develop and implement strategy to improve MI program, lube program and mechanical seal program.

Provide technical support for repair of plant assets and verification of new assets.

Provide technical support to the production team, management of change program and capital projects.

Develop, and implement materials, parts, and inventory systems/processes including but not limited to: BOM, 5S, PMI on incoming materials, Inventory Turnover Ratio, Inventory Stratification, Part Kitting, Stock Out Rate, and Inventory Costs.

What you need to succeed:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of industrial plant engineering experience is required. (Mechanical Engineering degree preferred), A total minimum of 5+ years of applicable plant engineering experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.

Familiarity with the practical application of the requirements of 29CFR 1910.119 PSM regulations, ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31 series Piping Codes, API 579, ANSI/NB-23 National Board Inspection Code, and 49 CFR (DOT Code) is required.

Working knowledge of API 510, 570, 572, 574, 576, 580, and 581 codes or recommended practices as part of the Ingevity Mechanical Integrity Program is required.

Working knowledge and practical application of RCA / RCFA is required.

Must have the ability to perform: (1) calculations (2) safety/risk/fitness for service assessments for Fixed Equipment, Relief System and Rotational equipment required.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.

Effective communication skills - verbal and written is required.

Strong presentation skills in technical forums as well as superior verbal and written communication skills preferred.

Experience with SAP is preferred.

Strong awareness of safety and ability to prioritize safety in all tasks.
