Job Description:

Under general direction from the System Vice President of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Coordinator will focus on:

Performs daily operational tasks for the Baptist Health Foundation, including drafting and typing correspondence; processing bills, purchase orders, and other financial documents; filing; processing mail; answering phones; and arranging for building and equipment repairs and maintenance. Assists with scheduling; travel arrangements; donor interactions and follow-up editing and writing newsletters, donor proposals, and other duties as needed. Assists in planning and administering Foundation budget in addition to recording and tracking Foundation funds - ex: Patient Assistance Fund, Grant funds, etc. Sends notices, assists with agendas, prepares materials, sets up rooms for meetings, and takes and prepares minutes of annual Baptist Health Foundation Board meetings as well as committee meetings as requested; and assists with general support for board members. Responsible for data entry of donors and/or donor relationships and activities in the Salesforce database. Routinely enters donor information and/or retrieves information, or reports for fund development purposes. Responsible for creating acknowledgement letters and tracking relationships for each constituent record. Provides necessary follow-up work for referrals and for relaying issues and concerns to appropriate parties. Promotes Baptist Health Foundation services to individuals and regional businesses Develops, enhances, and expands donor relationships and partnerships; including prospect development Responsible for maintaining regular stewardship and correspondence with BH Foundation board, donors, prospects, significant partners and key constituents. Assist with organizing company events and other employee-related activities Follow Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures


Bachelor's degree preferred

A minimum of 5 years of philanthropy experience

Organized with excellent communication skills

Work effectively with employees, managers, board members, donors, and business and community partners

Self-motivated, detailed oriented, and enjoy working with others

Professional and able to meet deadlines and handle multiple functions at one time

Excellent verbal and written skills with a high-level knowledge of data processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

Familiar with the development software program and prospect research resources

Knowledgeable of posting financial information, making bank deposits, reconciling account, and maintaining investment statements

Understand and use basic financial recordkeeping in order to maintain accurate ledgers, balances, and appropriate financial documentation

Performs general office administration functions including scanning, copying, mail merge, bulk mail processing, ordering supplies, processing check requisitions, and maintaining expense records

Work flexible hours with some evening and weekend work required

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a medical setting
