CASA by the Lakes invites community to attend annual Foster the Dream Gala

MURRAY, Ky. – CASA by the Lakes is excited to host an unforgettable evening of hope, advocacy, and celebration at its annual Foster the Dream Gala. The gala is open to the community and will be held on May 2, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. CST in the Murray Room at the CFSB Center in Murray.

Break out the bowties and the fascinators; scheduled on the eve of the Kentucky Derby, CASA by the Lakes encourages guests to come dressed in their Churchill Downs best. The dress code is cocktail attire but Derby-inspired fashion is welcomed and encouraged! The evening will feature a delicious dinner, lively music, and an opportunity to dance the night away. Attendees can capture memories at the photo booth, bid on exciting items in both silent and live auctions, and hear touching testimony from Lindsey Paschall, who worked closely with her son’s CASA advocate throughout the duration of his court case. 

CASA by the Lakes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to training community members to serve abused, neglected, and dependent children in Marshall, Calloway, and Christian Counties. Through rigorous training, CASA volunteers, or court appointed special advocates, learn to amplify the voices of children navigating the family court system. Its mission is to recruit, train, and support quality volunteers who advocate for the timely and safe placements of these vulnerable children.

In 2024 alone, there were 596 reported cases of abuse, neglect, and dependency in Calloway, Christian, and Marshall Counties. While CASA volunteers served 129 of these children, the organization's ultimate goal is to advocate for every child within the system. CASA volunteers provide consistent support and become invaluable voices for the children they serve, profoundly impacting their lives – both in and out of the courtroom.

Of the event, Jessica Foust, Executive Director of CASA by the Lakes said, “This year's Foster the Dream Gala is a true celebration of growth, impact, and unwavering community support. With our expansion into Christian County, we are reaching even more children in need of advocacy and support. This event is not just about raising funds – it's about raising hope and ensuring that every child has a voice and a brighter future in Marshall, Calloway and Christian Counties.”
