Accident Clerk

Summary: Coordinates internal communications and reports as well as communications with auto liability insurance companies and others regarding instances in which PTL equipment is involved in an accident.

Major Duties:

• Coordinates follow up review of initial reports and entry of after-hours accident/incident reports

• Intake, processing, and data entry of accident/incidents and reporting to auto liability insurance carrier as needed

• Communicates as needed with auto liability insurance carriers, both PTL’s and others’, for the purpose of handling accident claims.

• Coordinates the preparation of daily Accident/Incident and Maintenance Driver Evaluations reports

• Communicates DOT/major accident information to leadership

• Processes purchase orders as needed pertaining to property damage auto liability claims handled in house

• Assists co-workers and answers various calls and directs as needed


Job Requirements/Work Area Conditions:

Education/Experience: Related experience or degree with Safety training. Internal training will also be provided.

Special Skills: Familiarity with auto liability insurance and accident circumstance evaluation. Data entry and experience with Word and Excel.

Physical: Keyboard/computer work, sitting, walking

Environmental: Office
